Mag Chloride Application

On Wednesday, July 1, 2026, from approximately 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., Mag Chloride will be applied by the Desert Mountain Co., along with a combination of Creede Public Works and the Mineral County Road & Bridge. This is taking place on portions of Capital Avenue and S. Rio Grande; the attached map highlights these locations, with the red highlighted area being the Mag Chloride application. There will be brief delays/closures during this process in the morning, but the road will be open soon after the application process is complete. Please drive slowly through the Mag Chloride while it is still wet in order to keep this material from getting up onto your vehicle frame and undercarriage. Once the product is dry, it will help reduce dust conditions and stiffen up the road.
